Your first Ground RB sessions

Start with a plan.
Build a lineup. Learn one skill.

You do not need a top-tier tank to get started. Follow these five steps, then use a nation guide to plan your next research stop.

Step 1

Choose one nation to learn first

Choose a tree whose vehicles interest you, then stay with a few familiar starter vehicles long enough to learn their reload, mobility and weak spots. Check the first stops in its nation guide before committing to a distant vehicle.

You can try another nation later. For now, familiarity makes it easier to understand why a match went well or badly.

Step 2

Build a lineup before chasing a higher BR

Set the game to Ground Realistic Battles before checking battle ratings. Your highest-BR vehicle in the lineup sets the matchmaking BR, including aircraft. One higher-rated vehicle can pull your lower-rated backups into tougher matches.

  • Prepare at least three usable ground combat vehicles near your intended BR as a beginner target.
  • Include two dependable combat choices and a light or scouting role where your starter tree offers one.
  • Add SPAA when available and learn its role; it does not replace your ground combat backups.
  • Use the selected nation stop for its specific options, carry-ups and starter exceptions.

Example: a 2.3 vehicle alongside 1.3 backups creates a 2.3 lineup. Check every slot before queuing.

Step 3

Research the next complete lineup

Pick a nearby stop in your nation guide and work toward the vehicles that fill it. Unlocking one new tank is a milestone; having useful backups is what makes the move practical.

  1. Identify the next combat vehicles and their research prerequisites in the game.
  2. Check purchase, crew and repair costs before committing your Silver Lions.
  3. On a new vehicle, inspect available ammunition, repair and firefighting modifications, then follow its guide and your biggest match limitation.
  4. Keep your familiar lineup available while you learn the new vehicles.

Premium vehicles are optional. Learn the mode and check a purchase against the lineup you can support.

Step 4

Give each session one practice goal

Before the match

Use a test drive to check your aiming, binoculars, rangefinding and controls. Learn your reload timing and what your selected ammunition does.

During the match

Choose cover before moving. Check flanks, avoid repeating a route that just got you destroyed, and stay useful with your next spawn when you have the points.

  1. First goal: reach useful cover and identify likely enemy approaches.
  2. Next goal: take a well-aimed shot, then use cover during the reload.
  3. Next goal: change position when the enemy knows where you are.
  4. After each match: name one decision you will change next time.

Step 5

Move up when the lineup and your habits are ready

Before moving to the next BR, check your lineup and how comfortable you are using it:

  • Do I have several usable combat spawns for that stop?
  • Can I afford to crew them and keep playing after difficult matches?
  • Do I understand their ammunition, reload and intended roles?
  • Do I know where to position and when to pull back?

If a gap remains, keep practicing at the current stop while researching the missing vehicles. Moving up is a choice, not a deadline.

Your first-session plan

Choose one nation, prepare your starter lineup, test your controls, and play a short session with one practice goal. Then review one recurring mistake before your next session.
