Israel at BR 6.3
M-51 starter route
One starter tank. Up to three spawns. Build your lineup through research.
The standard entry requirement is a purchased Rank IV or higher ground vehicle in the USA, USSR, Great Britain or France. An eligible Israeli vehicle can also provide access. Researching a qualifying vehicle without purchasing it is insufficient. Once eligible, purchase and crew the tech-tree M-51; it has no initial RP cost.
One vehicle, up to three spawns
You may begin with only the M-51. Its special starter rule permits three uses in a match without consuming backup items. In Ground RB you still need enough spawn points for each return. These are three uses of the same tank, not three different vehicles. Do not assume this rule applies to the premium M-51 (W).
Build the lineup gradually
- M109 — 5.7: recommended first addition; an HE support vehicle that gives you another combat option.
- Rochev — 6.0: research afterward for a further support option with a longer-barrel gun.
- TCM-20 — 4.3: optional close-range air defense. Its lower BR does not lower the matchmaking BR set by your M-51.
These vehicles are additions to research, not vehicles you already own on entering Israel. No premium purchase is required for this route.
Vehicles to research2
M109 first, then Rochev. Both stay below the 6.3 ceiling.
Optional air defense1
Add the TCM-20 when researched; SPAA is optional in this starter route.
Optional premium: M-51 (W)1
An optional 6.3 addition if you own it. The standard starter route does not require a premium purchase.
How to play the M-51
Use cover and well-aimed shots. The 105 mm HEAT round provides substantial penetration, but the armor is limited and the gun has no stabilizer. Stop, let the sight settle, fire, then withdraw behind cover while reloading. Avoid trading shots in the open.
Aim through crew, ammunition or critical modules. Disable the gunner or breech when an immediate kill is uncertain. Keep firing lanes clear of obstacles that can detonate HEAT ammunition prematurely. After a death, reassess the route instead of repeating a watched approach.

Stop before firing, aim through crew or critical modules, and return to cover during reloads. After a death, change the route or firing position before respawning. Practice HE shot placement with the M109 and Rochev in test drive before relying on them in battle.
Initial M-51 purchase and crew budget
Core lineup budget
For featured lineups, the total covers new core vehicles at this stop. Alternative lineups show the full core. SPAA, optional vehicles and the research path leading here cost extra.
| Vehicle | Research RP | Purchase SL | Basic crew SL |
|---|---|---|---|
| M-51 | 0 | 155,000 | 45,000 |
| Total | 0 | 155,000 | 45,000 |
Purchase + basic crew: 200,000 SL
Your remaining cost depends on what you’ve already researched, prerequisites, discounts and crew slots. Expert/ace training, modifications and repairs are extra.
When to move up
Stay at 6.3 while researching the next lineup. Do not raise your matchmaking BR for one newly unlocked tank. Move when you have useful supporting combat spawns and understand their ammunition and roles; add SPAA when available.
This opening stage is an exception to the normal lineup minimum. You can begin immediately with the M-51 and its special extra spawns.
Opponent examples for the M-51
Examples of vehicles the M-51 may face at 6.3. This is not a list of the most common opponents or every possible enemy. The nations on each team determine which vehicles you can face.
Tiger E · 6.0 · lower BR
Threat: its 88 mm gun remains dangerous to your Sherman hull. M-51 approach: take a settled shot into an exposed, relatively flat plate with crew or weapon components behind it. Avoid highly angled corners, overlapping gun armor and blind center-mass shots. Return to cover while reloading.
Tiger II · 6.7 · uptier
Threat: accurate long-range fire and strong frontal protection. M-51 approach: seek a clear, relatively flat turret-face shot beside the gun or an exposed side. Put the HEAT jet through gun crew or the breech when disabling return fire is the priority. Do not trade shots with the hull exposed.
IS-3 · 7.3 · full uptier
Threat: a hard-hitting 122 mm gun, sharply angled pike nose and rounded turret. M-51 approach: avoid rushed shots into steeply angled armor or layered side protection. Prefer a clear side angle or a studied frontal aiming point; use its reload window to move between covered positions.
Test M-51 HEAT shots in Protection Analysis at the range and angle you expect. The M109 and Rochev use HE and require different shot placement; do not copy these HEAT aiming recommendations to them.

Lower-BR vehicles can also appear as backups in an uptier. An opponent’s rating alone does not identify the match bracket. BRs checked against the official wiki on October 9, 2026.
